This is all of the information copy and pasted from my blog: Hey, everyone. So my in-laws have these neighbors that are terrible people. They started with three rats (one male and two females) and then ended up with 50 (or more- they had been selling some of them to pet stores, but they stopped taking them). Well, the people got evicted and came to my husband two days ago saying, "Will you watch our rats for a few days?" And my husband said, "Uh... okay." And then they said, "Will you come get them?"

So he went to get them- and the house was covered in dog shit everywhere (they apparently never took their dogs outside) and was in a completely terrible state. The rats were in two cages- one large cage made of mostly chicken wire and about 10 males were cramped into a 10 gallon aquarium. So my husband took them, cleaned all of the rats with our rat lice shampoo that the vet gave us a long time ago, and spread them out into more cages that we had. I contacted a local rescue, but they're full... so we have to keep them here until fosters and quarantines are found. The rescue is getting us more cages, food, and bedding. They started a chip-in page ([link] for buying more supplies and espays for the females (some might be pregnant).

The official count is 29 pinkies, 6 adult females, 6 adult males, 8 babies (females and males).
Varying injuries and malnourished, but no respiratory issues that we can hear.

The rescue is getting trains going to different locations. We're in Amelia, Ohio and I know the rescue is willing to go up to 3 hours from here personally. If you can help, please either chip-in with the link above (we ran out of our own resources and we're very broke already) or if you can help even more directly with foster or quarantine (especially if you can take moms and pinkies- we really don't want to euthanize them, but no one seems to be able to take them in), contact Rattie Tattie Rescue (here is a link to their Facebook page: [link].

Anyone able to help, or know someone who can?

It looks like all of the rats have been placed now, but the rescue could use donations.
